Employee Promotions
CARLO GAVAZZI recently promoted to very deserving and hard working employees, congratulations to both Louis and Abril!
In February, Louis Camardo was promoted to President and Managing Director for Carlo Gavazzi - The Americas. Prior to the promotion, he was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Americas overseeing Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and the United States for a few years.
Earlier this month, Abril Salas was promoted to Operations Analyst for Carlo Gavazzi - The Americas. Prior to her promotion, Abril worked for several years as a Customer Service Representative for the United States, Mexico, Central America, and South America.

In May, Jerry Riley was appointed as our Key Account Manager for strategic customers and opportunities in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
Also in May, John Piasecki was appointed as our Key Account Manager for strategic customers and opportunities in Wisconsin, Missouri, and Kansas.
In March, Kevin Hilmers was appointed as the V.P. of Accounting and Finance for Carlo Gavazzi - The Americas.
In February, David Bray was appointed as our Key Account Manager for strategic customers and opportunities in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah.
New Product Launches
We launched a couple of new products during the first half of 2024, you can find a quick recap on our newer products from the past year here.
M12 Capacitive Sensors with IO-Link Communications
In April, we launched three new series of M12 Capacitive Sensors with IO-Link Communications. Based on our 4th generation TRIPLESHIELD™ sensors, these CA12 Series Sensors represent the ideal solution for industrial automation equipment in applications where sensing performance must be continuously and accurately monitored and logged.
Semiconductor and printing applications benefit from this kind of data for accurate detection of different sized objects, shapes, and dielectric values.
These sensors have been designed to flexibly adapt to industrial applications. A housing option is available for every application – PBT for less challenging environments, AISI316L stainless steel for strength, and PEEK offering a smooth surface to reduce accumulation of dust or liquids.
RM1D Series Solid State Relays
In early March, we introduced the expansion of our RM1D Series Solid State Relays, which will now include a 3 Amp DC rated version. This new addition, the RM1D060D3, will have a rated output voltage of up to 60 VDC.
This extension was inspired by evolving market research that showed a large portion of the DC solid state relay market was less than or equal to 3 Amps DC. A key market driver of this addition is the electrification of vehicles. We at Carlo Gavazzi are always striving to improve our offering and align ourselves with the market and our competitors.
With this new RM1D Series DC Solid State Relay expansion, Carlo Gavazzi now offers ratings up to 3A, 10A, 20A, 50A or 100A at up to 60VDC, up to 20A or 50A at up to 200VDC, and up to 10A at up to 500VDC.

Recent Trade Shows
NPE 2024
In May, CARLO GAVAZZI exhibited at NPE 2024, the plastic machinery industry's premier trade show. The show takes place every three years, and was held in Orlando, Florida – but hasn’t occurred since 2018 due to the pandemic. The RG Series solid state relays and contactors, our various chassis mount SSRs, proportional switching SSRs, energy meters, monitoring relays, timers, inductive and capacitive proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, ultrasonic sensors, soft starters, IEC contactors, and power supplies were on display and we also showcased two products towards the front of the booth – a fully interactive Capacitive Proximity Sensors with IO-Link floor display, which detected different types of regrind/pellets, along with a filling / emptying application shown in the front left of the booth, and an interactive NRG SSR Monitoring System, shown in the front right of the booth. Both demos drew the most interest at the show.

SAE's WCX (World Congress Experience)
In mid-April, we showcased our various energy meters, energy transducers, gateway solutions and other complementary products for the EV Charging sector at SAE’s WCX, which took place in Detroit, MI. It is North America’s largest technical mobility event, where mechanical, electrical and software engineers, the entire mobility community and supply chain, come to collaborate on a vision for the future of tomorrow’s mobility landscape. The DCT1 was the most popular product displayed, but there was a lot of interest in all of our products on display.

DISTRIBUTECH International
In late February, we showcased our various energy meters, energy transducers, gateway solutions and other complementary products for the EV Charging sector at DISTRIBUTECH International, which took place in Orlando, FL. It is the leading annual transmission and distribution event that addresses technologies used to move electricity from the power plant through the transmission and distribution systems to the meter and inside the home. The DCT1 and gateways were of keen interest to those that visited our booth.

This past Winter, Dean Stanley of AccuTemp of New Haven, IN emailed in the correct answer to our trivia question and won a JBL Charge 3 Wireless/Splashproof Bluetooth Speaker, and had his name randomly drawn from all the correct entrants.
