North and Central America Sales Conference

Carlo Gavazzi held their North and Central American Sales Conference a few months ago outside of Chicago. The theme was Focus on the Future … and Fast! CARLO GAVAZZI is quickly gearing up with IO Link and IoT. With attendees from Italy, Denmark, Malta, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada and the United States, it was a sales conference for the ages!

The attendees spent time learning about new products and technologies, participating in workshop groups, engaging in a three-part Sales Tough seminar – and still found time for a spirited trivia contest, some awesome BBQ and indoor racing.

Many of the products discussed at the meeting have either been launched, or will be launched in the coming months, and will bolster Carlo Gavazzi's product portfolio as we Focus on the Future …and Fast!

Recently Released New Products

Over the course of the past several months we have released several new exciting products!

Earlier this month, CARLO GAVAZZI rolled unveiled our latest Motor Thermistor Relay in a compact, DIN-rail mount housing. The DTA04 features universal input voltage, giving it flexibility to be installed in a variety of control panels. This is a DIN rail mounted thermistor relay whose main purpose is to protect electric motors from overheating, ensuring continuous production and preventing machine downtime. Simplicity, versatility, and reliability are crucial for most users as they select monitoring controls to protect motors and equipment. The DTA04 meets these criteria with key features that include an operational mode that can be configured as Auto or Manual reset, giving the user the ability to select the option that best suits their requirements. The universal input voltage and multiple NEMA B300 relay outputs also provide users with the options they require.

In November, CARLO GAVAZZI launched two new families of economically priced Electromechanical Plug-in Relays and Sockets. The RCI Series are offered with either an 8 or 11 pin circular plug while the RRM Series are offered with either an 8 or 14 blade plug. The RCI is a general purpose industrial relay, available in either 2 or 3 change over contact arrangement and is rated up to 10 Amps per pole. The RRM is a more compact industrial relay that can be purchased with either 2 or 4 changeover contacts. The 2-contact version is rated for 10 Amps, while the 4-contact version is rated for 5 Amps. Both families of relays are equipped with a diagnostic LED, push or twist to test mechanical flag and an orange mechanical status indicator.

In October, CARLO GAVAZZI announced the new 4-Wire Complementary Output Inductive Proximity Sensors with the expansion of the ICB Series. For people who cannot afford to have a line down due to the lack of an available part, having the correct components for replacement, means significant reduction of machine downtime. Carlo Gavazzi has developed the ICB Series with Complementary Output with the objective of adding product flexibility. They provide both a Normally Open and Normally Closed Output in the same package for easy replacement, without compromising performance.

Also in October, CARLO GAVAZZI rolled out the new DPA52 and DPB52 Series Three Phase Monitoring Relays. These devices provide critical protection against phase loss and improper phase sequence, with DPB52 adding additional protection against under-voltage and over-voltage. Optimizing panel space is a primary goal for most manufacturers. Thanks to the low profile DIN housing and 17.5mm width, it is possible to install these monitoring relays in industrial cabinets as well as in electrical distribution NORM panels. With a built-in switch mode power supply, DPA52 and DPB52 have the added advantage of filtering and minimizing harmonic distortions, which can help prevent devices from overheating and most of all prevent failures and false alarms which could lead to unexpected machine downtime.

In June, Carlo Gavazzi launched the new compact, 45mm wide RSGD Series 40HP Soft Starter with Integrated Overload Protection. The RSGD is an easy to use soft-starter for 3-phase induction AC motors, needing just three settings. The self-learning algorithm adjusts the soft starter parameters to work with different applications and varying load conditions. It is active at every start to ensure that the motor always starts with the optimal settings. New current balancing algorithm keeps the current unbalance to less than 15%.

CARLO GAVAZZI recently acknowledged Mike Schlafman with his 5 Year Service Recognition Award. Mike is pictured in the center above, flanked by two other North American employees, who were also acknowledged at our 2017 North and Central America Sales Conference.

Pack Expo Las Vegas

In late September, CARLO GAVAZZI exhibited at Pack Expo Las Vegas, one of North America's premier packaging exhibitions. Products showcased included our comprehensive range of solid state relays/contactors, proximity, photoelectric and ultrasonic sensors, power supplies, contactors/overloads, miniature circuit protectors, soft starters and energy meters.
