February 2018 - Carlo Gavazzi is pleased to announce the launch of two new single phase AC DIN-rail switch mode power supply families, in housings that are among the most compact available. These new additions to Carlo Gavazzi’s extensive lineup of power supplies include features and price points that are well-suited to a wide variety of markets and applications.
The SPDM Series is a general purpose family with industry standard features in the most common output configurations. These smartly priced models are available in ranges from 30W up to 240W, in 12V and 24V outputs, and in housings that are up to 30% smaller than similar types on the market.
The SPDC Series offers the highest level of features and performance, in slim metal housings. They feature efficiency levels above 90%, built-in Power Factor Correction, and can provide 150% power boost for up to 3 seconds, making them ideal for applications with high inrush currents. With built-in parallel function and an output ready relay, the SPDC Series helps ensure power is always available for critical functions. These advanced models are available in 120W, 240W, and 480W output versions.

Moving forward, the SPDM Series and SPDC Series are ideally positioned to be the primary DIN Rail power supplies from Carlo Gavazzi. They contain the most important features that the market requires today, to go along with reduced sizes and aggressive price points. We will continue to offer prior generation SPD series, but will begin transitioning our inventory levels to reflect the emphasis of SPDM Series and SPDC Series.
As we proceed with the new Slimline Power Supplies, we also announce the phase out of several older models. All ‘first generation’ SPD 120W models are being discontinued, and replaced with SPDC and SPDM models, along with equivalent SPD-N models. We will continue to sell the discontinued models while supplies last. Please see the link below for a complete list of items that are phased out, with suggested replacements.
