With increased energy unit costs, decreased generating capacity, and the environmental concerns with the burning of fossil fuels, energy efficiency is becoming critically important. Energy efficiency not only includes the cost of the energy but how efficiently it is being used. An excellent snap-shot of a process' efficiency can be obtained by looking at the power profile and then comparing it to historical power profiles.
Carlo Gavazzi offers a broad range of power meters for single, two and three phase systems and for voltages up to 600 V. Our meters measure real power (kW), reactive power (var) and apparent power (VA). By combining our power meters with a SCADA package or with our innovative UWP web interface, the user can view the power profile over time via easy to read graphs and tables. By installing power meters on machinery and electrical equipment, the facility manager is able see which machines are producing optimally and which machines are under-producing.
Power meters are typically used for monitoring stamping machines, injection molding machines, packaging machinery, food and beverage machines, motor control centers and pump controls to name but a few.
