Electrical Meters \ Electricity Meters

An electrical meter or electricty meter are common names given to a meter that is capable of measuring a wide range of electrical paramters - both single and 3 phase. These variables include voltage, current, power factor, power and energy. Energy costs are becoming a significant expense in most processes, so it is important that a company's electrical consumption is being monitored. Installation of electrical meters or electricity meters is a good first step in an overall energy management program. Without detailed knowledge of your electrical consumption, it is almost impossible to identify problem areas. These meters can be installed down to the individual device level allowing for real time indication of energy consumption and performance of individual motors, pumps, heaters, lighting banks, battery chargers etc.

Carlo Gavazzi offers a broad range of electrical meters for single, two and three phase systems and for voltages up to 600 V. Furthermore, most of our meters can measure reactive energy (KVARH) and are able to differentiate between both generated and consumed energy. In addition, they are also able to provide a digital output pulse as well as offering numerous communication options including Modbus (RTU and TCP), BacNet (MSTP and IP) and Profibus. In addition, our energy meters can be connected to a LoRa network via our UWPA gateway - allowing wireless communication up to 10 KM in open air.

Electricty meters are typically installed in commercial and residential units (sub metering), manufacturing plants, charging stations and in production machinery.
