Frequency Monitoring Relays

Frequency monitoring is important in generator based systems where it is critical that before applying a load, the generator frequency and voltage are correct for the system (ie. 480 V / 60 Hz). Operating loads at the wrong frequency is damaging both to the load and the generator.

Frequency monitoring can be stand-alone or in conjunction with voltage monitoring. Carlo Gavazzi offers both single-phase frequency monitoring relays as well as three-phase frequency monitors that also incorporate over and under voltage monitoring.
